Well here it is the week of the big race.  I did not run on Saturday, because nobody came out of their houses.  I was out front at 5:30 am but nobody was there so I was lazy and went back to bed and just ran later at the gym-not the same as running the marathon course.  My run today was tough on me.  I woke up and started my run earlier to beat the heat, but it didn't help it was so hot.  I ran up to St. George Blvd, back down to 200 S. then over to River road down to 900 S. and then home.  When I got home I crawled back into bed, my foot was aching, I was hotter than H@#& and I was discouraged about the upcoming race.

I didn't start my run until 10:00 a.m. STUPID.  I am sure it was at least 105 degrees.  I told myself just to run until I couldn't go on due to the heat.  I walked for a few minutes just to catch my breath.  I ran the post office route-which is somewhat up hill-not my favorite route.

This is my last run before the big race-My foot is still bothering me but I am going to keep the committment I made to run it.  I ran down hill from Freddy's to my house weather was hot in St. George, but I caught a cool breeze every once in a while.

This was my first 1/2 marathon and I was not sure it I was ready for it, but to my surprise I finished.   It was such a fun course and I loved every minute of the race.  The scenery and the weather were perfect and I took my pace slow enough that I didn't over do myself.
